Step 1: Before serving, pre-heat sauce to 140 degrees F

Most Gehl's customers prefer to use the capability to warm sealed bags in the dispenser.  It is most convenient to plug in the dispenser on the evening before a planned use and heat the sealed bags overnight.

The dispenser must remain on (plugged into an electrical outlet) 24 hours a day to maintain sauce at its proper temperature.

Step 2:  Load the Dispenser

  • Open the preheated bag of sauce with the provided cap opener. Note: 80 oz bags of sauce require puncturing the inner bag seal before attaching the valve. This is most easily accomplished with the puncture tool/bag opener combo tool.
  • Before inserting the valve for serving, disassemble the valve and spray the barrel with Canola Oil.
  • Attach the valve to the bag fitment and fasten it securely using the twist-on ring. The valve opening should be facing down toward the end of the bag closest to the bag fitment.
  • Place the bag into the dispenser, aligning the valve in the dispenser pan using the guides on the side of the valve. Lower the bag until it fits securely into the u-shaped opening.
  • Place a dispenser weight on top of the first bag. Note: when the first bag of sauce gets low, begin heating a second bag of sauce so that it is pre-heated before it is placed in the dispenser. *Weight should be placed on top of bags, not between two bags.

Step 3: Replace Empty Bags

  • When the flow of sauce slows, remove the top bag and/or weight.  Reposition the serving bag so all sauce is able to dispense. Squeeze the sauce toward the spout if needed, then replace the top bag or weight.
  • When sauce stops dispensing, take out the empty bag and discard it. Place a clean* valve on the new bag and repeat the steps in Load the Dispenser section.

*Dual dispensers using 80 oz pouches of sauce will receive disposable valves, shipped with sauce. These valves can be thrown away with empty bags of sauce and replaced with new valves. Single dispensers using 140 oz or 190 oz bags of sauce will receive a re-usable valve, shipped with the dispenser. See below for disassembly and cleaning instructions:
