Who We Are

At most aseptic manufacturing companies, employees focus on developing a lot of products quickly, before the next project begins. At Gehl Foods, we take a different approach.

As a leader in food and beverage manufacturing as well as aseptic processing and production, we focus on developing customer partnerships using the latest market insights and best practices.

When you partner with Gehl Foods, we put your needs first. Throughout your project, our team will work to qualify suppliers, source ingredients and packaging. We identify the best batching and processing techniques, optimize formulas for high-volume, aseptic production, identify cost effective ingredients (without compromising taste) and define trials to test the product, process and packaging. This allows us to deliver your products on time and budget

Using this method, we specialize in a variety of low acid and aseptic products, including:

The Gehl Foods Manufacturing Advantage

With aseptic manufacturing innovation starting in the 1960’s and fifteen high speed lines built for large scale production, our modern manufacturing facilities provide the profitability needed to deliver products on time and budget.

Leveraging high volume production, our product silos handle batches between 50,000 and 340,000 pounds each. Using multiple silos, we work ahead, filling lines to maximize efficiencies and minimize downtimes, while duplicate lines provide manufacturing redundancy and surge capacity.

In addition to our current capabilities, we also strive to make continued improvements. During the past ten years, we’ve invested more than $100 million, expanding, evolving and updating our manufacturing technologies.

We operate five manufacturing facilities. Each facility specializes in a unique aspect of the manufacturing and supply chain process:

  • Bottle making
  • Receiving/staging
  • Aseptic production
  • Labeling/Distribution
  • Dispenser assembly

Our facilities complement each other, delivering large orders consistently. For example, as part of our aseptic production process, we don’t blend multiple smaller batches of the same flavor through a run.  Instead, we use 32 refrigerated silos to produce, store and test an entire day’s production before filing. These practices ensure greater consistency -- giving your brand a more uniform look, taste and reputation.

We also offer a unique range of market solutions including:

Flexible Intake and Batching: We accommodate various containers, from barrels to tankers, and are fully equipped to handle grade A dairy as well as soy, almond and other nut milks. We also meet organic, kosher, halal, gluten free and allergen free standards.

Container Variety: We handle many containers, including steel cans, bag-in-box dispenser packaging from one to five gallons and pouches from 32 – 140 ounces as well as 2-4 ounces portion cups and HDPE bottles ranging from 4-16 fluid ounces. We accommodate self-manufactured bottles from our plant or any of the major bottle companies. Our selection of HDPE containers can get your product to market rapidly, without the expensive, lengthy FDA validation process.

Custom Labeling and Packaging: We offer flexible secondary packaging and casing solutions, including flexible bundles and printed cartons. We can also pack multiple different case configurations in bundles, cases or tray options.

Efficient Storage and Lot Control: Our ASRS system is just one of our many automated processes. Products are stored, rotated and sorted for shipping by an automated storage and retrieval system in our 300,000 square foot warehouse.
