Cheddar Chipotle Cornbread

Cornbread is the ultimate – it goes well with almost any dish. This cheesy variation is sure to become a staple on your dinner table. To make cornbread muffins, bake in a muffin tin.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp chipotle chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup Gehl’s Supreme White Cheddar Cheese Sauce

Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly grease 9- x 5-inch loaf pan and line with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. In large bowl, whisk together flour, cornmeal, sugar, chipotle powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt. In separate bowl, whisk together honey, eggs, butter, buttermilk and cheese sauce until combined; stir into flour mixture until smooth.
  3. Pour batter into prepared loaf pan. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes or until golden and tester inserted into center comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes. Serve warm or at room temperature.
