Sweet and savory, these versatile treats can be served as appetizers or dessert! We recommend using tart apples, such as Empire, Golden Delicious or Granny Smith for optimal texture.

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Line baking sheet with parchment paper; set aside.
  2. Melt butter in large skillet set over medium heat; cook sugar for about 1 minute or until starting to melt. Add apples; sauté, stirring, for 10 to 12 minutes or until apples are tender, juicy and deep caramel color. Stir in cheese sauce; remove from heat and let cool.
  3. On lightly floured work surface, trim puff pastry into even square. Cut into four 5-inch squares and transfer to prepared baking sheet. Divide apple mixture evenly among pastry squares; fold over pastry to enclose filling.
  4. Whisk egg with 1 tsp water; brush over tops of pastry. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes or until pastry is golden and crisp; let cool slightly before serving.
